Well, for the first time, we are doing 2 Halloween shows. One on the weekend before Halooween, at the Eagles Hall in Campbell River. This is held Saturday,October 24th. The following weekend, we will be playing in Merville, at Merville Hall on Friday October 30th. (The night before Halloween). This allows all you folks with kids to go out and have yourself a rockin good time and still be at home for the youngin's on one of their favourite and most anticipated nights of the year. We have decided not to play on Saturday night as we all have small children as well and they don't stay small for long! So many of the people that come to our dances are in the same situation. There will be more information on our calendar page very soon.

Also, it looks like we may be doing a double gig on New Years with Crimson Reign. It is all in the idea stages yet.

Been Busy

Well, it has been a busy month for Mr. C. Nov. 25th, we were involved in a fundraiser for homelessness at Merville Hall that raised over $2000 to help at a time when the weather outside is frightful! We have stuff coming up that you may not want to miss. New Years is just over a week away and we will be playing at Moose Lodge in Powell River. I have a few tickets here that they sent us. They cost $25. If you would like a ticket get in contact with us right away as they only sent 10 tickets. We will be sending them back if they are not sold soon. It should be a great night and we are really looking forward to playing over there again. We have been busy playing for corporate Christmas parties and have a couple of gigs coming up in January in Campbell River. One is a private party and another is a Soccer fundraiser at the Quinsam Hall on January 23rd and is open to the public. We will be playing at Mt. Washington on Saturday March 28th. Put this one on your calendar for sure, it should be a great night. We have already been booked for a few gigs in the summer and even one for next Christmas. If you are interested in hiring the band, and you have a specific date in mind, you may want to get a hold of us as soon as possible as this year we seem to be booking up well in advance. Richard and Jeannie are expecting their second child so we will be taking some time off for this in the late spring. Earlier in the spring we are looking at the posibility of playing a double gig with our friends Badfish, another Campbell River favourite. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for this one. Valley Boys Calendar Launch Party with Mr. Completely

Well here is your chance to get your Mr. C. fix if you missed seeing them perform at the Eagles Hall for Halloween. The boys from Mr. Completely posed for this years Valley Boys 2009 Calendar which is a fundraiser for the homeless. A launch party for the calendar is slated for Saturday November 29 at Merville Hall with Jamie's son DJ Neon Steve as the opening act. All net proceeds from ticket sales as well as calendar sales will be donated to Dawn to Dawn Action Against Homelessness Society. At this time of year, there are so many charities that need extra help. Why not have a great time helping out others. Who knows where any of us will be with the economy in the drink and so many people losing their jobs. If you can help by coming out and having a great time, then everybody wins!

New Truth

Ok, now this is it. We are working on a new website and instead of having a news page, we will put all updated information here. We have been neglecting the blog and are sorry but will try to make an effort to keep you informed with what is going on here.
Richard and Jeannie are expecting another baby this spring and we are all very happy for them. It will be baby Completely #4 as Rod and Cheri just had baby Completely #3 last May.
We just had an awesome Halloween gig at the New Eagles Hall on October 25th. Combining efforts with Sweet Tease Bursleque Troop, I think that everyone was entertained thoroughly and fed a nice dinner of Chicken Cordon Bleu, all for $25. It was sold out 2 weeks in advance so remember that for New Years which we will be playing at over in Powell River. Halloween was also a fundraiser for BC Children's hospital. We had some great gigs this summer and are getting close to the Christmas party season. We have already booked a few weekends so if you want Mr. C. for your Christmas party, better book soon. It looks like we will probably be doing a fundraiser for the homeless at Merville Hall on November 29th promoting the Valley Boys calendar that all of Mr. Completely posed for (shirtless) Great Christmas gifts! Anyway, we will post again soon with more details about Nov. 29 and New Years Eve. Over and out!

News for May 2008

Man, I can't believe it was New Years when I last posted. The band hasn't been playing much in the early spring but now we are getting into gig season. Festivals, weddings, fundraisers yadda yadda yadda. First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! to our drummer "Hot Rod" Campbell and his beautiful wife Cheri and their daughter Kenzi, for welcoming into their family the newest little Campbell, Malcom Rodrick David Campbell, born May 7, weighing 7lbs 7oz. Gee, do you think the little gaffer likes the lucky number 7?
A bit of a change in our schedule, June 14, in Powell River, the venue has been changed to Dwight Hall instead of McKinney's pub. Seems they have a big 3 day festival and we are going to be a part of it in association with Seafair and McKinney's on Ash. Should be a great rockin time, all ages but there will be an area licensed for alcohol. Tickets are $20. Opening act is Ace's High.
I just got news that our favourite gig in the summer, Hornby Island is cancelled this year. Hopefully it will happen again next year. Unforseen circumstances have made it impossible for the Bishops to hire the band to come over. We are disappointed as it really is a magical weekend.
We are working right now on Oyster River's first outdoor music fest with all local talent. August 2nd. We are still in the planning stages and are awaiting confirmation on a few of the important details before we proceed. At this stage all looks good. Early next week I should have most of the information I need to proceed and will keep updating as bands are confirmed and vendors have commited.
Believe it or not, our Christmas gigs are starting to fill up so if you are thinking about hiring the band, get on it before we won't be available at all. Dec. 6 and Dec 13th are tentatively booked already. Anway, the sun is shining and I have to go and enjoy some of it! Peace out!

New Years Eve Dance with Mr. Completely

Ring in the New Year with Mr. Completely at the Merville Hall, December 31, 2007. Tickets are going fast, priced at $25 and include party favours and finger food. Doors open at 8pm and the band starts at 9pm. No Minors Please!!! Last year, this party sold out well in advance so be sure to get your tickets early. They also make great stocking stuffers as do "Twice on Sundays" Mr. C's debut album! The guys are really stoked to play this as they haven't played publicly around these parts for a while. They have some new original songs as well as a freshened cover song set list. There will also be a bus doing pick ups and drop offs in Campbell River, Willow Point, Oyster River and Courtenay. Opening for Hedley

I just wanted to remind everyone about next weekend. We will be playing at the VIEX in Nanaimo opening for Hedley. Time change... we were supposed to be on at 7pm and it has been changed to 6:30. Hope to see some of you there! Tickets are at the gate.

We had an awesome night in Courtenay on Saturday. Great crowd, and we had fun playing with 3 other bands. It is great fun sharing the stage and not so much work. Unfortunately we missed the Tequila Bedspins but did get a chance to see Pacific Disturbance and Big Red Truck. BTW, the girl with the red hair and kilt on stage has a beautiful voice! Thanks to all who came out! It was a great night, and thanks to Pat Burke and Doug Supple for doing sound.

98.9 Jetfm added Mr. Completely's song "Never See You Again" to their playlist. It is the 4rth release that Jetfm plays. Others include "Walk Away, Before Too Long and Rich Man, Poor Man.

1047 Free Fm in Grande Prairie has added "Walk Away" to their playlist. One of our very favourite DJ's, Pete Montana is now the program director there. We miss you Pete!

"Walk Away" Mr. C's first radio release came out on TEA's (Toronto Experimental Artists) Compilation Cd at the end of June. As of yesterday, the cd made it to the top 30 chart at #13 at CHRY in Toronto.

A&R Select in Hollywood has offered us a contract (which we will be signing) to publish our works in their approved library for film and tv submissions.

Mr. Completely will be opening for Hedley in Nanaimo on August 18th at the Vancouver Island Exhibition. (VIEX) Mr. C takes the stage at 7pm

Successful Fundraiser

Well the Howie Family fundraiser was a complete success. I have to say the group of people that put this on were very organized, and put on the most successful fundraiser we have ever seen or been a part of. It was a sold out show, the amount of items donated for the auction were incredible. We are still waiting to hear numbers but their guestimate at the end of the night was around $35,000.00. We are truly happy about that as the family this money was raised for is incredibly loved by our community.
Next gig we are playing is at Merville Hall on May 5th. And after that, the next public gig will be in Pt. Hardy at the Relay for Life on June 16th. Hope to see alot of you there!
We got an email from Pete Montana the other day, he was the morning show host on Jetfm with Roo Phelps, who we also keep in touch with. Pete is now starting a sister station to the Jet in Grand Prairie, AB. He announced to us that he added "Walk Away" right away to their rotation which makes us very happy. That's it, Peace Out!

Last and next gig!

We had an awesome gig last Saturday night in Courtenay! It was a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society's Kick off to the Relay for Life. Campbell River band Thirst opened for us and we finally got to meet them face to face. Shaw cable was there interviewing Richard and Jamie and should be up and running soon. It was Richard's wife's birthday and as they have a new little baby, she could not make it. Sorry Jeannie! We will be playing in Pt. Hardy for the Relay for Life on June 16th from 8-11pm. I am not sure exactly where yet but I do know it will be outdoors. Our next gig is next Saturday (April 14th) in Campbell River. A fundraiser for a family who's young boy, (11) in Campbell River has been diagnosed with Leukemia.

His name is Joe Howie and his blog address is www.joehowie.ca. They are a very well respected and loved family in Campbell River. It will be a sell out if it isn't already. Cancer Society and Howie Family Fundraiser

Well, a couple of gigs coming up. April 7th we will be playing in Courtenay at the upper hall in the Legion. It is a fundraiser for the Kick Off for the Relay for Life for the Canadian Cancer Society. April 14th we will be playing in Campbell River at the new Quinsam Wellness Center Hall. It is located behind the new gas station just off the Inland Island Hwy and Willis Rd. This is a huge event - a dance and auction, silent and live. The hall fits approx. 500 people and we are already almost sold out. This is a fundraiser for a well loved Campbell River family (The Howie Family) who's son has been diagnosed with Leukemia and needs financial help for all the treatments that Joe (their son) will need to endure. Long time no blog

Well, it has been quite a while since the last blog. Going on a year actually. I think it was Rod's birthday. Anyway, quite a bit of stuff has happened since last may. Did I mention yet that Rod and Cheri had a baby girl, Kenzie, May 1st 2006. Baby Completely #1.

We had an awesome Summer, we went to Victoria for the Island music awards, got to play a couple of songs there but to our disappointment did not win Song of the Year.
We played on Hornby for one of our favourite gigs ever in June, we will be going back this June as well. Thanks Gerry and Bob.

We got to meet Barney Bentall:)

We played on Cortez Island for Cortez Days dance and Ucluelet for Uke Days Dance. Our favorite fans all came over to the other side of the island for that one!

We got to open for Trooper in Pt. Alberni in September as well.

Other big news, Richard and Jeannie had a baby girl, Lilia Brook Spencer. She was 8 weeks early but healthy as could be. A miracle baby, - Baby Completely #2. Anyway, more later...

Song of the Year nomination for "Walk Away"

As some of you may know, Mr. Completely's first release, "Walk Away" is nominated for Song of the Year at the Island Music Awards to be held June 17th in Victoria at the Central Bar and Grill. Tickets are on sale at Lyle's Place in Victoria and are $15. There is an after party that starts at 11pm and costs $5 to get in. We will be performing "Walk Away" as well as there will be 11 more performances by other Nominees. We'd love to see you there! WISH US LUCK!!!
